Great-Great-Grandma Teddy

Here is a gem of a pic. Jim's Grandma Teddy is Michael's great-great-grandma. Not very many people get pic like this. We love that they got to meet. We don't love that it was at sweet aunt Bonnie's funeral. Cancer sucks. For real. 

Finishing the Fireplace

I think it's finally finished!! Here is what it looked like after the dust had settled. Nice but not quite what I had envisioned. I really wanted built-ins on the sides.

Jim wasn't a fan of the built-in vision (lots of work) so he suggested we find some bookcases. I started looking for some right away.

We ended up at RC Willey's and found some that were almost perfect (perfect would have been built-ins).

At first I didn't love them. They were not right somehow. But the more stuff I put on them, the more I loved them. And the more I loved the blue wall. Go figure.

They are the perfect place for our movies and toys and books. I really LOVE how this project turned out.

When Michael is watching TV I can watch him and love the view from where I am even more now. 

The Kickball Game

On the day before Easter we gathered the Barton family for dinner and games. We hunted for candy-filled eggs and ate hot dogs and potato salad.

And we went to the park for an active game of kickball!! We had Dad, Tyler, Bree, Michelle, Lacey, Brook, Cylie, Cooper, Me, Jim and Kevin for players. 

Both Lacey and Brook made amazing catches. We played hard but no one was injured this time....as opposed to our last baseball game when few walked away unscathed.

Michael got a t-ball set and loves to hit the ball for everyone to chase.

About a week later he found another egg that had been overlooked. He was so excited. And that is why we don't hide real eggs!!

Daily

The house is rarely free of toys and more specifically balls. He LOVES playing with them. His favorite game is to sit at the top of the stairs and throw the balls down to the person waiting at the bottom. He laughs when you fail to catch it. So I don't catch it very often. Silly Rackie.

Catching Up

This little super hero was not loving the mask when he first got here. It freaked him out and he refused to wear it.

But after seeing Rackie zooming around the house with it on he figured it must not be too bad.

He is the funniest little guy. We LOVE having him here.

This is how our days look. A whirl of color and movement that rarely stops. I am loving it and soaking up every minute.
